Lea Giddins
Director of Community & Civic Engagement
As Director of Community and Civic Engagement, Lea is responsible for strategizing and spearheading NYLCV’s efforts to engage, educate, and empower New Yorkers to be active advocates for the environment. Prior to joining the NYLCV, Lea worked at Women Creating Change where she led the organization’s policy advocacy and program development aimed at increasing civic engagement among women in New York. Previously, she spent several years at New York Cares managing relief efforts in Queens after Hurricane Sandy. In Nepal, she worked as the Partnership Manager, helping to build partnerships after the 2015 earthquakes. Lea was born and raised in New York City and has spent her career doing mission-driven work in the nonprofit sector. She received a Bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies from Brandeis University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
