Vatche Minassian

Vatche Minassian, is a Client Development Leader, Vice President at HDR.  Mr. Minassian has been actively involved in the Engineering Field for the past 32 years since graduating from Manhattan College in 1988.

He is engaged in the management of large complex citywide projects for NYCDEP and other city agencies. He has extensive experience in managing multiphase/multi-discipline large projects with a strong background in construction management. His experience and understanding the needs for municipal collection systems and treatment plants started early in his career working in multiple divisions within the NYCDEP. Following NYCDEP he worked for multiple engineering consulting firms (Montgomery Watson Harza, Blasland Bouck & Lee, ARCADIS and HDR – 2017 to present) servicing municipal clients in the northeast with focus on NYC.

Mr. Minassian authored several papers presented at various conferences including the NY/NJ Water Environment Association and the Water Environment Federation (WEF) conferences. Throughout his career he served on multiple professional committees and associations such as New York Water Environment’s Metro Chapter Board of Directors from 2011 – 2013 and currently serving as the State Representative (2019-2021). He is also active on other associations such as New York Building Congress, AWWA and ASCE.

He was awarded the Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers SSSSS award in 2016 as part of his long-term commitment and effort in the success of the Association. He is still actively involved in all the associations’ functions in support of the current executive board and serving on the program and collection committees.
