Read a recap of the Meet & Greet here.
Join us for a free beer and meet New York State Senator Jen Metzger. Your state legislators have a big impact on local and statewide environmental issues, drafting and passing legislation to protect our waterways, improve our infrastructure, and address climate change. Often, we do not have the opportunity to hear directly from legislators about their commitments to the environment. That’s why the New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund is joining our Delaware River Watershed partners for this Meet & Greet, to bring your representatives to you!
From Warwick to Bethel and up to Delhi, New York’s 42nd Senate District is a mostly rural district consisting of State protected forests, parks, and preserves. District 42 is also home to a large portion of NY’s Upper Delaware River and its tributaries. This Meet & Greet will feature local environmental leaders and provide a unique opportunity to have a dialogue about water and land conservation issues and ongoing efforts to protect the Upper Delaware River Watershed, which is responsible for 600,000 jobs and $22 billion in annual economic activity, including a vibrant tourism industry, recreational opportunities, and a well-known wild trout fishery. It’s also home to several local craft breweries, like Roscoe Beer Co.! We hope you’ll join us for a pint to meet Senator Metzger and hear about the work our partners are doing to keep the watershed clean and thriving.
Featuring our partners and co-hosts from the following organizations: Friends of the Upper Delaware River, Delaware Highlands Conservancy, Orange County Land Trust, and Catskill Mountainkeeper.
