East Hampton Environmental Coalition

Since 2011, NYLCVEF has served as a technical partner to the East Hampton Environmental Coalition (EHEC) assisting with the production of a common agenda, a candidate questionnaire and environmental issues forum for candidates running for East Hampton Town Board.
In 2017, NYLCVEF was proud to partner with the following local organizations: Accabonac Protection Committee, Amagansett Springs Aquifer Protection, Concerned Citizens of Montauk, Defend H2O, Ditch Plains Association, Friends of Georgica Pond Foundation, Group for the East End, International Dark Sky Association – New York Chapter, Long Island, Businesses for Responsible Energy (LIBFRE), Northwest Alliance, Peconic Baykeeper, Perfect Earth Project, Renewable Energy Long Island, Quiet Skies Coalition, Surfrider Foundation: Eastern Long Island Chapter, and Third House Nature Center.
On behalf of EHEC, here’s a look at its activities in 2017 :
On September 25, members of the EHEC gathered to announce the release of the Green Guide which was covered in the East End Beacon:
On October 12, NYLCVEF and Concerned Citizens of Montauk joined forces with Group for the East End and Renewable Energy Long Island to co-host an Environmental Candidate Forum with the candidates for Supervisor and Town Board:
The East Hampton Star, Sag Harbor Express, and East Hampton Press all covered the event.
On October 31, EHEC questionnaire responses of candidates for East Hampton Supervisor and Board are released to the public:
- Jeff Bragman (D-Town Board)
- Kathee Burke-Gonzalez (D-Town Board)
- Paul Giardina (R-Town Board)
- Jerry Larsen (R-Town Board)
- Peter Van Scoyoc (D-Town Supervisor)
- Manuel Vilar (R-Town Supervisor)
