    The Director of Programs is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, and cultivating corporate and foundation support as well as program management, oversight and reporting.

    The primary responsibilities include:
    Working with the President, NYLCVEF staff, the Board of Directors, and NYLCVEF partners to develop public policy forums, civic engagement campaigns, and nonpartisan electoral programs
    Developing an annual NYLCVEF revenue budget
    Seeking corporate and foundation grants for programmatic work and general support for the Education Fund
    Overseeing implementation of funded programs
    Reporting back to donors and Board members on programmatic results

    The Director of Programs position presents an exciting opportunity for a leader who thrives in a culture that is entrepreneurial and collaborative, mission-driven, and results oriented. The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:
    2 – 3 years’ experience writing grant proposals and/or reports
    Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects, and develop and use evaluation tools to gauge program effectiveness
    Understanding of nonprofit organizational development, budgeting and strategic planning
    Strong communication skills: excellent writer, active listener, and articulate speaker
    Knowledge of and interest in New York politics (both local and statewide), environmental issues, and non-partisan electoral politics
